תפקיד תארי השם הוא לתאר את שמות העצם או את כינויי הגוף התיאור יכול להיות:
1. מספר סידורי first, last
2. מספר מונה one, two, three
3. מהות, הערכה beautiful, nice, famous, important, ugly
4. גודל big - small, heavy - light, huge - little
5. טמפרטורה cold, warm, hot
6. גיל old, young, new
7. צורה ellipse, round, circular

9. מוצא Enlish, French, American
10. חומר plastic, metal
היכן נמקם את שם התואר במשפט ?
מקום שם התואר במשפט - לפני שם העצם You are a beautiful girl He is a nice guy
כאשר יש מספר שמות תואר במשפט, סדר הופעתם יהיה מ 1 עד 10 כאשר מופיעים שתי תארים מאותה קבוצה, אין חשיבות לסדר הופעתם
